  • 1909 – Company founded in Montreal, Canada. Railroad supplier, distribution, miscellaneous manufacturing.
  • 1958 – Entry into electric motor market with production of components for Locomotive traction motors.
  • 1987 – Briscoe family invests.
  • 1993 – AC production technology introduced.
  • 1996 – ISO 9000 Certification.
  • 2000 – Electrical cabinet assembly capabilities added.
  • 2002 – Enter Propulsion System Assembly for the Military market.
  • 2003 – Controlled Goods Program Certification.
  • 2005 – IEC Holden splits, Briscoe family takes over 100% control of electric motor business.
  • 2006 – Entry into production of drill motors for the Oil & Gas Market.
  • 2007 – Entry into production of traction motors for the Transit market.
  • 2008 – Rob Briscoe named President.
  • 2008 – Facility opens in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico.
  • 2010 – Facility opens in Plattsburgh, New York.
  • 2011 – Over 1,000,000 form coils manufactured.
  • 2011 – ATEX Compliant.
  • 2011 – DNV Compliant.
  • 2013 – Doubling of footprint in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico.
  • 2013 – Incorporation of IEC Holden (Pty) Ltd in South Africa.
  • 2013 – Machining capabilities installed in Fresnillo, Zacatecas, Mexico.
  • 2014 – Entry into electric bus market.
  • 2014 – Manufacturing operations established in Johannesburg, South Africa.
  • 2014 – First gear box production.
  • 2015 – First AC propulsion drives manufacturing in sub-Saharan Africa.
